English Country Garden

Here is my card for this week's allsorts challenge. The theme English Country Garden worked really well with the beautiful papers I won a couple of weeks ago, so I have used the green spotty paper from the pack (6X6 Bloom & Grow - My Mind's Eye).

Family history

This week I have been looking into my family history again. It's become really addictive and I love finding out what my ancestors were up to over 100 years ago.

Anyway, the reason I've picked up my family tree stuff again is because I was wondering what I could use for this weeks allsorts vintage card challenge. I intended to scan some old birth certificates and use them as backing papers but making the card kind of went on the back burner. In the end I didn't use any of the old documents I have for my card, maybe I'll make another one at some point with the same idea.

Smirk sweet as honey

I bought a pack of 'Smirk' papers and stamps to match about a month ago, and although they grabbed my attention in the shop I had struggled to complete a card that I was happy with. Looking around my craft room for something to use for the 3,2,1 challenge it had to be 'Smirk'.

The flower is made up of three layers, the first paper I have used is the yellow sweet as honey paper and the second is two lengths of the small spotted paper. The ribbon has purple edges and it runs from top to bottom over part of the spotty paper.

A big thank you to all that posted a comment last week, I can tell I'm going to enjoy the world of crafty bloggers!
